SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Dawn Addis (D-Morro Bay), released the following statement following President Trump's proposed funding freeze for sanctuary states.
"President Trump's newest threat to cut federal funding from our state due to our sanctuary policies, which have already proven legal in the courts, reflects a horrific disregard for the rule of law," said Assemblymember Dawn Addis (AD-30) "Withholding these funds is not about creating safety; it is about retaliation. We have already defended these laws successfully, and I am confident we will continue to fight for what is right."
Dawn Addis was elected to the California State Assembly in 2022 to represent the coastal 30th Assembly District, which includes San Luis Obispo, Monterey, and Santa Cruz Counties. She is the Chair of the Assembly Budget Subcommittee 1 on Health.
