Addis Bills Introduced

Safe and Affordable Education

  • AB 1159: California Learner Personal Information Protection Act
    Updates student privacy laws to better protect student data. It clearly limits what information schools and companies can collect and extends strong privacy protections to students from preschool through college.
  • AB 2704: Student Access to Behavioral Health Act
    Creates a pilot program that helps smaller or underrepresented districts provide and get reimbursed for behavioral health services. The goal is to increase mental health care access for young children (ages 0–5), students in small or rural school districts, and young people transitioning into adulthood.

Healthy Californians

  • AB 2034: Food Additive Safety and Transparency Act
    Requires companies to report to the State Department of Public Health if a food or dietary additive is found to cause cancer. It also strengthens ingredient labeling rules so people can clearly see what is in the food they eat and closes a Food and Drug Administration regulatory loophole.
  • AB 1876: Fair Care for All Act
    Makes it illegal for health insurance plans in California to deny coverage or benefits to someone based on race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.
  • AB 1907: Seamless Care Act
    Helps prevent gaps in health coverage by automatically enrolling people in a Covered California plan if they are found to be ineligible for Medi-Cal after they have applied through the Statewide Automated Welfare System.
  • AB 2486: CCS Advisory Group Sunset Extension
    Extends the California Children's Services Advisory Group, which is currently set to end in 2026, so it can continue operating until December 31, 2029.

Protecting Our Environment

  • AB 1536: Save Our Shores Act
    Strengthens safety rules for oil pipelines and prevents pipelines that are considered unsafe from restarting operations.
  • AB 1744: Clear Labels Clear Seas Act
    Stops sunscreen companies from labeling products as "reef safe" or "reef friendly" if they contain chemicals known to harm coral reefs.
  • AB 2254: Coastal Monarchs Protection Act
    Protects and preserves coastal habitat that monarch butterflies rely on during their migration.

Promoting a Strong Democracy

  • AB 1539: Protect Our Democracy Act
    Makes it a crime to try to place someone on the ballot for President or Vice President if they are not legally eligible to serve because they have already reached the constitutional term limit.
  • AB 2134: Family-Friendly City Councils Act
    Prevents city council members from automatically losing their seats if they are absent for more than eight weeks while on parental leave, helping new parents, especially mothers, remain in office.
  • AB 2393: "ICE" Out Abuse
    Allows people to file lawsuits against private police contractors or federal agents if they use excessive and unlawful force that violates Californians' constitutional rights
  • AB 2691: Felons, including Pedophiles and Traffickers Running for Office
    Bars people convicted of felony sexual assault or human trafficking from holding public office in California.
  • AJR 26 :No One is Above the Constitution
    Urges Secretary Noem to Resign, and if she does not, it calls on Congress to pursue impeachment.

Keeping Californians Housed

  • AB 1817: Mobile Home Fair Process Act
    Strengthens protections for mobile home residents by requiring park owners to provide clearer and more detailed notices before evicting someone for violating park rules.

Strengthening Central Coast Businesses

  • AB 2731: Santa Cruz Alcohol Licenses
    Developed in partnership with Santa Cruz County, would allow restaurants in Santa Cruz County to expand alcohol service options, helping local businesses grow and attract more customers.
